Pre-Eclipse 2017 Road Trip: Books and On Line Resources

The following resources were extremely useful when planning and executing our road trip to check out possible observation sites for the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse. A lot of research went into finding hotel options and looking at various routes to take. The accommodations were selected by Denise (a travel agent). With the exception of one lost reservation at an Embassy Suites, everything went without a hitch. Event the Embassy Suites situation was resolved okay after a little bit of time and perseverance.

Eclipse Bulletin: Total Solar Eclipse of 2017 August 21 - I used a copy of this to show others about the eclipse while on the road. I was lucky enough to get a copy from Fred directly at the SEC October

Great American Eclipse (web site - laptop) - Many useful maps with overlays detailing duration and other details.

Solar Eclipse Local Circumstances (web site - laptop) - My website, I wrote it. Of course I use it!

T-Shirts - Great American Eclipse has T-Shirts (and other stuff) available at their online store for eclipse enthusiasts to wear now. These shirts promote the upcoming eclipse with phrases such as "Where will you be..." and "Get you ass to totality". I wore both styles while touring the eclipse path. The "Get you ass to totality" got more comments and started more conversations by a long shot. All of the comments were favorable and resulted in someone saying they would make an effort to see the eclipse. Great job Michael and Polly! We had just left Ohio before the following became available. I did not have time to order it however it would have been useful.
